Performances

Tarte Noire offer Playback Theatre performances to audiences of all shapes and sizes. Our work responds to the needs of diverse groups and encompasses a wide range of situations.

Playback Theatre is a facilitated, creative and interactive encounter in which audience members tell something meaningful from their lives. This is immediately turned into theatre that authentically reflects the teller’s experience. Everyone present witnesses the enactment and is affected by it. This stimulates a powerful conversation for those present. This can be moving and magical, comic and courageous and is always surprising.
